Grandstream and extension passwords issue

When using the latest versions of PBXware and Grandstream phones, auto-provisioning will not work because whole configuration of the phone will get shuffled and the phone will not work. Also, the administration password for the phone will get lost.

The reason for this happening is the new PBXware password generation, which, in latest versions of PBXware, generates stronger passwords utilizing special signs like * ? : { ] etc... Grandstream phones cannot work with these, hence the above happens with them.

If you want to use Grandstream phones, it is recommended to manually change the password on the extension configuration before provisioning, and change it to simpler forms using only a-z , A-Z letters and digits 0-9 .
